What is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)?
EMDR is intended to alleviate human suffering and achieves profound treatment outcomes in the shortest period of time. It is scientifically validated and is based on the theory that problems in people’s lives are often due to traumatic experiences or disturbing life events. This treatment approach can result in the alleviation of presenting symptoms, reduction of distress from the memory, improved view of the self, relief from bodily disturbance, and resolution of present and future anticipated triggers.
What is Sensorimotor Psychotherapy ?
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a body-oriented talking therapy that integrates verbal techniques with body-centered interventions in the treatment of trauma, attachment, and developmental issues. It is based on principles of mindfulness and mind/body/spirit holism and informed by contemporary research in neuroscience, attachment theory, trauma, and related fields.
