Practice Description

Through my practice in St. Agatha at 1760 Erb's Road, I am able to schedule appointment times on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and daytime Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Should these times be impossible for your situation, I do schedule appointments for one Saturday each month (except June through August), when appropriate, to meet the counselling requirements of your situation.

Marital / couple / family / relationship counselling and Sex Therapy consultations are my primary area of emphasis.   

I consult with couples, families and individuals. I also practice EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and find this tool very helpful in appropriate circumstances. My therapeutic approach uses a variety of tools from the systemic, narrative, solution focused, emotionally focused and cognitive fields. I value a collaborative approach which invites people to discover and use their own resources, as well as discover resources in their family and community life which can help build a more satisfying and healthy life experience. 

People who consult with me are invited to access personal, familial, communal and spiritual resources. People have consulted with me regarding separation, sexual dissatisfaction, parenting (especially concerning teens), extra-marital affair(s), work dissatisfaction, depression, grief and bereavement, personal growth, family farm issues,  family business issues, etc. The age range of those who have consulted with me varies from 8 years to 73 years.

My Basic Mediation education is helpful in many circumstances, but I am not legally qualified to mediate marital separation, or child custody situations. I have experience in helping parents develop written parenting plans.

Together with my colleague, Lee Horton I offer pre-marriage preparation in different locations. If you wish to have a "Marriage Making" weekend in your southern Ontario community, all we request is an adequate facility and a minimum of eight registered couples. We offer an annual "Marriage Making" event in Stratford Ontario scheduled for a weekend in February or March of each year. Costs

After an initial 90 minute consultation ($130.00), a sliding fee scale is used to help determine subsequent 55 minute session fees based on family income. An evening / weekend additional amount applies to appointments scheduled for 5:00 pm and later as well as for weekend appointments. Applicable taxes are added to all fees. Payments may be made by cheque, Debit Card, Master Card, Visa or cash.
