Background Information
Since my graduation from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1996, I have had a strong and rewarding career, most of which has been in St. Agatha. I built a strong home-based office in St. Agatha in 1998 and also began teaching at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Cambridge in 2005. In the fall of 2010, I moved my practice down the street and joined the team at Southern Ontario Counselling Centre. The move was an excellent choice as it is thrilling to be part of a team in such a welcoming, quiet setting. My treatment room is warm, soothing and peaceful in decor and my clients are also thrilled with the move.
Since 2001, I have devoted to studying deep tissue work through many courses to sharpen my skills in this area. The deep tissue therapy I apply is one you can expect to receive a deep tissue treatment administered with minimal discomfort during it's application. This form of treatment is very effective for the relief of scar tissue restriction from injuries, accidents or tension of the daily grind. This technique is also applied in such a way that you are not expected to tolerate a lip biting experience of a painful "rip and tear" massage.
On the other side of the spectrum, another area of specialty I have committed to studying and practicing is therapeutic breast massage. Today more than ever women are subjected to forces that negatively impact their health such as the effects of mastectomy's, congestion with menstruation or pregnancy. Many women experience discomfort in their breasts which often goes unreported, ignored and silently tolerated. Breast massage is a recognized, effective and professional form of health care for women seeking help and relief of such symptoms.
